Marie-Ophélie Gindrat

Violin/ Director

Marie-Ophélie Gindrat, a violinist from Switzerland, is passionate about chamber music, to which she devotes a large part of her time. In 2015, she founded a violin-cello duo with Gaëlle Lefebvre, the duoGL. Since December 2018, she is the concertmaster of  Camerata Ataremac. She becomes a member of the Valéik ensemble in 2021 and plays regularly with the ensemble Chaart’s chamber artists.

This season, she will be making her debut with the Solistes Européens Luxembourg.

She studied at the Haute École de Musique de Genève in the class of Stefan Muhmenthaler, then at the HKB with Benjamin Schmid. She finished her concerts studies in 2015 at the Mozarteum and attended masterclasses with Detlef Hahn, Laurent Corcia, Benjamin Schmid and Michael Wainman. She is specializing in a master's degree in pedagogy in the class of Corina Belcea at the HKB, which she completed with distinction in January 2019.

She is 2nd violin-solo of the  Nexus Symphonique ensemble since 2015, leader of the second violins of Valéik Philarmonik and Sinfonia Engiadina. She plays regularly with the NEC (Nouvel Ensemble Contemporain).

After her studies in Salzburg, she moved back to Switzerland and opened her own school violin4all  in Fribourg. The school aims to offer advanced individual teaching, but also to introduce students to chamber music from the beginning of their training.
